"Stability and change: why people resist" is a book review of Mark Twain's classic work, "The Adventures of Tom Sawyer". In this book, Tom Sawyer, a boy staying with his Aunt Polly and half-brother Sid in St. Petersburg, FL, sets out to achieve the great feat of discovering why people change their opinions about things. It is a simple matter to look at history and realize that all humans change their opinions about things over time. To complicate matters, humans change their opinions about stability and change for various reasons. What I find interesting in this book, is that Mark Twain makes it easy to understand the concepts of stability and change, while at the same time making it very clear that these concepts are real and important.

For instance, when people say that they want a stable job, it is obvious that they mean that they want a job that will not change over the years. In addition, those who want a change in their living situation are also obviously looking for a stability that does not change. Of course, both of these desires are within the realm of stability. The problem is that neither of these wants is actually a stable or changing desire.

Now then, what was interesting to me in this book is that after discussing these desires, Twain makes it very clear that both of these aspects are actually necessary and are required to live a successful and long life. So after reading this book, I realized that I needed to change that way of thinking. After all, if these were the facts, then why didn't everybody do them?

Well, there are many individuals who resist change, because they perceive that it will change their lives. To them, change means change, and they are not able to deal with that. They are the ones who cling to the past and are afraid that it might change. And yes, it can and sometimes it can change drastically and dramatically.

Therefore, stability is important, but it is not a constant thing. If you want to be stable, then you have to constantly change, in other words you have to be willing to change. In The Magic of Making Up, Hill writes about changing your beliefs and your behaviors. He does not suggest that you have to go through a personality development program, but he does recommend that you examine them closely and ask yourself if they are holding you back from reaching your full potential. If you start with that, and if you follow his advice, you should be able to achieve the stability that you crave.

Finally, I would like to mention a personal example that relates to this topic. When I was younger, I had a terrible relationship with food. It was one of the things that held me back emotionally and that kept me from being a success. As I went through my own personal growth, I realized that all of my habits related to food had to change. All of them.
